PET CARE
We recognise that, for many people, the family pet is a vital and much loved member of the household. This tends to be the case with elderly clients whose lives and daily routine often revolve around a much loved four legged friend who provides a source of comfort, companionship, affection and joy and can help to ease feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Studies have shown that elderly people, including those suffering with dementia, derive impressive therapeutic benefits from their interaction with pets.
Nick Trout, animal surgeon and author says:
“Pets devour the loneliness. They give us purpose, responsibility and a reason for getting up in the morning and a reason to look to the future. They ground us, help us escape the grief, make us laugh. Pets are our seat belts on the emotional roller coaster of life. They can be trusted, they keep us safe and they sure do smooth out the ride”
Our live in carers will assist with all aspects of looking after your pet’s needs – from feeding, grooming, exercise or trips to the vet, as kindly and diligently as you would yourself.
