OVERNIGHT CARE
Artemis care provides night support as follows:
WAKING NIGHT DUTY
A waking night duty is when the carer is awake during the night, usually between the hours of 10pm until 8am, in order to provide assistance and ensure the safety of the client. This type of service is ideal for clients who have intensive or complex care needs that continue throughout the night, such as palliative care, clients suffering with dementia etc. In addition if medication, fluids or personal care are required during the night, such as assistance with toileting, the carer is on hand to assist. Where an Artemis live in carer is in situ, this type of night care is offered in addition, in order to enable the carer to get a good night’s sleep.
SLEEP IN DUTY
A sleep in duty is when the carer sleeps in the client’s home, usually between the hours of 10pm until 8am, primarily for reassurance and safety, but is also on hand should assistance be required during the night. The carer can also assist with personal care such as showering/bathing, getting ready for bed and getting up in the morning, breakfast preparation and assistance with medication should this be required. Where an Artemis live-in carer is in situ this would form part of their normal duties.
