WHAT WILL LIVE-IN CARERS DO?

Live-in carers will, to the best of their ability, and within reason, do whatever necessary to ensure you retain your dignity, independence and lifestyle. Carers are there to help facilitate normal day to day life. They are on hand to assist with domestic duties such as preparing appetising, nutritious home cooked meals, undertaking light housework duties and help with personal care. Carers will assist you to pursue your hobbies and interests, drive you to appointments, restaurants and social engagements and provide companionship as required. Carers are happy to engage you in conversation but are also discreet and unobtrusive giving you much needed privacy, peace and quiet and time to yourself.

Live-in carers are with you for 24 hours a day and therefore they will need their own bedroom and food allowance. The duration of their stay is by prior agreement depending upon your requirements and can be anything from 7 days to several weeks at a time. Whilst carers are available to help during your waking hours a minimum of 2 hours time off is taken by the carer each day. This is to ensure safe working practice and is important for the wellbeing of the carer.

Live-in care is highly personalised and as such varies considerably. Depending upon individual requirements the role of a live-in carer can vary from companionship only to help with domestic tasks or assistance for those suffering with short term memory loss or lack of mobility , Parkinson’s disease, different types of Dementia, post-stroke care, MS, or those in need of Respite or Palliative care.
